Spring Newsletter 2024------SZT

Hello family members
This year we will be holding our annual Snell-Zimmerman-Timmerman family
reunion at our family Snells Bush Church on August 25th 2024. We held our
annual spring board meeting in May to plan for our reunion and update our
activities at Snell Bush Church. Reports were read and we will be working
on projects to keep our family church in good shape. This year we have 3
scheduled weddings at the church. Work will be done on getting a handicap
ramp in place, getting bids on interior painting, mowing of the cemeteries,
working on updating our e-mail and snail list, work on cemeteries and so
forth.
Planning for the reunion we will again hold a knick-knack tent sale August
24th Saturday. Last year we had the community members and guests come to the
tent sale and they also wanted a tour of the church and cemeteries with a
little information on the history of Snells Bush Church. We will also hold
our annual ice cream social on August 24th Saturday night 6 pm which is our
only fund raiser.
On Sunday August 25th we will again hold our annual reunion which will
include the flag raising ceremony, followed by dedication of our
Revolutionary soldiers, War of 1812 soldiers and World War 1 soldier and all
other soldiers who fought in wars. At a 11 am we will hold our annual
church service followed by a short business meeting to inform the members of
our activities to keep our reunion and church in good shape. We have the
militia coming with a cannon presentation. Of course we will have a catered
luncheon afterward----- everyone is invited to attend and socialize. Come
meet your cousins and view the memorabilia that we have at Snells Bush-- we
have many books, letters from family members, genealogy from family members,
maps, photos, reunion church service reports, newspapers clippings of local
events, and activities at Snell Bush and so forth. This is your family
history.
We want to remind everyone of the genealogy books that we have for sale.
They hold a lot of information and are a great tool to introduce the younger
generation to the history of the family and how we helped develop the United
States of America. It also gives a reason why we should be very proud of our
county especially now with all the challenges that our country is facing
today.
